ICC Green Urja Excellence Award
The Green Urja Excellence Award is a landmark accolade made by the Indian Chamber of Commerce in recognition of the outstanding achievements and innovations of individuals, entities, and corporations in the field of renewable energy and implementation of green practices. It acknowledges those who exhibit, among other things, pioneering leadership, innovative technology usage, and a strong commitment to propagating a clean energy future in India.
Purpose
As the leader of the global energy transition to renewables, India cannot afford to overlook any aspect of it. Clean power is at the heart of not only environmental sustainability but also energy security, and national economic growth. With full awareness of this, ICC instituted the Green Urja Excellence Award. Incepted by ICC, this annual trailblazer-focus event aims to highlight and reward those who make significant environmental achievements, drive the use of green technologies, and spread sustainable energy initiatives to different sectors.
Award Categories
- The Green Urja Excellence Award is open to the following categories of individuals or entities:
- Large Enterprises & Energy Corporations
- Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)
- Startups and Innovators
- Government Agencies & Public Utilities
- Non-profit Organizations & Community Projects
- Academic Institutions and Research Bodies
Evaluation Criteria
- The assessment is carried out by a jury of esteemed community members from the industry and the government, technical and environmental experts. Only the shortlisted nominations meet standards such as:
- Demonstrate large-scale and innovative use of renewable energy in generated or adopted power (solar, wind, biomass, hydro, etc.)
- Provide verified reductions in carbon emissions and overall environmental footprint
- Require energy-efficient technologies and solutions that meet the highest standards
- Contribute to sustainable development and promote community engagement
- Show environmental-friendliness objectives in the long term and alignment with SDGs
Submission & Selection Process
- The Indian Chamber of Commerce is always open to receiving applications and nominations that articulate the country's energy roadmap. Submission of project case studies, impact reports, and supporting documentation
- Preliminary screen to ascertain eligibility and relevance
- Jury detailed evaluation and field inspection (if needed)
- Winner recognition at the flagship ICC Sustainable Energy Conclave
